RSVP for
"Beyond Tolerance Choir"
(Let us know we can depend on you)
The Beyond Tolerance “One Sound One Voice” choir will gather together for it’s second time. What a great time we had last year! To learn the African American music by rote – meaning no musical score, - this year, Steve Jones, Director of the African American style of music says laughingly “perhaps I will print the words”. Steve is the Director of Music at the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Wichita. Steve will be sharing two songs out of their tradition:
“I Need You To Survive”, and
“When All God’s Children Get Together”
Should be loads of fun, singing, swinging, together!
It is an honor to have Dr. Tom Wine, Director of Choral Music at Wichita State University directing two challenging pieces of music that you may want a copy (not taught by rote) prior to rehearsals. Tom in an internationally recognized choir director. The two songs he will be directing are:
“Order My Steps”, and “Walk a Mile”
Two very rhythmical songs with powerful messages. What if we really took the time to walk in each other’s steps, and experienced what is important in the other?
We are pleased you are willing to participate in this second “Beyond Tolerance Rally”. Your voice added to many other voices will share an important message – the joy of sharing each other’s traditions and way of living.
